Selling in Greece: distributors, retail and marketplaces

Greece is a euro-area market with importers and distributors concentrated in Athens and Thessaloniki, national retail chains, a large tourism sector and an online channel led by Skroutz. Many Greek importers also supply Cyprus.

We serve Greece from our EU company in Poland, with Greek-speaking partners for offers and calls, stock in our partner warehouse in Poland and a shared CRM where you see every buyer.

How B2B buying works in Greece

Greek buyers include importers and distributors, wholesalers that supply independent shops and islands, retail chains, online retailers and Skroutz sellers, hotels and tourism suppliers, and public bodies buying through tenders. Many importers are family companies that hold several brands in one category.

Relationships matter, and buyers like to talk by phone and meet in person before a first order. Tourism makes demand seasonal for many products: hotels, beach shops and souvenir sellers place orders before the summer season, so timing your offer is important.

What Chinese suppliers often get wrong

Sending English-only offers and labels. Greek buyers often accept English for the first contact, but consumer labels and instructions must be in Greek, which uses its own alphabet, and products need an EU responsible person under GPSR. National packaging EPR applies, and a foreign seller may need an authorised representative in Greece. See EU compliance.

How we approach Greece

From our base in Poland we research importers, wholesalers, chains and hotel suppliers in your category and contact them in Greek with native-speaking partners. Buyers can order directly from your factory under contracts in your name, or smaller lots from stock in Poland. Every introduced buyer is registered in the shared CRM. For consumer sales we can list your products on Skroutz and other marketplaces from our EU company.

Frequently asked questions

How can a Chinese factory sell on Skroutz in Greece?

Skroutz expects a seller that meets EU obligations, delivers quickly and serves customers in Greek. We can list your products from our EU company with stock in Poland, so you do not need your own EU company. See marketplaces.

How do I find distributors in Greece?

We research importers, wholesalers and chains that already sell your category and contact them in Greek. You receive a short list with notes, and every introduced buyer is registered in the shared CRM. See distributor search.

When should I contact Greek hotels and tourism buyers?

Well before the summer season. Hotels and souvenir sellers usually plan purchases in winter and early spring, so offers and samples should reach them months before the season starts.

Do I need a Greek company?

No. Greek importers can buy directly from your factory. If buyers want an EU invoice, our company in Poland can import and resell, and it can act as your EU responsible person under GPSR.

How long until the first order from Greece?

We cannot promise a date. First contacts usually start in the first month and samples follow in the second or third; marketplace sales can start sooner once stock is in Poland and listings are approved.
