Selling in Ireland: distributors, retail and marketplaces

Ireland is an English-speaking euro-area market with high purchasing power. For years many Irish shops bought through UK distributors; since Brexit, goods from Great Britain cross a customs border, and many Irish buyers now look for suppliers with stock inside the EU.

We serve Ireland from our EU company in Poland, in English, with stock in our partner warehouse in Poland and a shared CRM where you see every buyer.

How B2B buying works in Ireland

Irish buyers include importers and distributors, wholesalers and buying groups that supply independent shops, retail chains, online retailers and Amazon sellers, and companies and public bodies buying through tenders. Many retail chains operate in both Ireland and the UK and buy centrally.

Buyers are practical and direct. They expect clear prices, delivery terms and documents in English, quick answers and reliable delivery. Because the market is small, order sizes are often modest, and EU stock with short delivery times is a strong argument.

What Chinese suppliers often get wrong

Treating Ireland as part of the UK. Ireland is in the EU and follows EU rules: products need an EU responsible person under GPSR, CE marking where it applies, and national packaging EPR through an approved compliance scheme. A UK company or UK stock does not cover these obligations, and goods from Great Britain need customs clearance. Northern Ireland is part of the UK but follows EU GPSR. See EU compliance.

Frequently asked questions

Can I serve Ireland from my UK distributor?

You can, but goods from Great Britain need customs clearance to enter Ireland, and EU obligations such as the GPSR responsible person must be met by an EU operator. Stock in the EU, for example in Poland, avoids the customs step.

How do I find distributors in Ireland?

We research importers, wholesalers, buying groups and chains that already sell your category and contact them in English. You receive a short list with notes, and every introduced buyer is registered in the shared CRM. See distributor search.

Can a Chinese factory sell on Amazon.ie?

Yes. We can list your products from our EU company with stock in Poland and handle the EU obligations. See marketplaces.

Do I need an Irish company?

No. Irish importers can buy directly from your factory. If buyers want an EU invoice, our company in Poland can import and resell, and it can act as your EU responsible person under GPSR.

How long until the first order from Ireland?

We cannot promise a date. First contacts usually start in the first month and samples follow in the second or third; marketplace sales can start sooner once stock is in Poland and listings are approved.
