Pet supplies: selling to European buyers

Pet supplies: selling to European buyers

Pet supplies in Europe are sold through pet-shop chains, wholesalers, independent shops, groomers, vets and a strong online market. Buyers look for safe materials, good design and suppliers who can deliver mixed ranges in small lots. We find these buyers for your range of accessories, toys, beds and equipment.

How European buyers buy pet supplies

Pet accessories reach European owners through specialist pet-shop chains, supermarkets and DIY chains with pet sections, independent pet shops, groomers and veterinary clinics, and online pet shops and marketplaces. Wholesalers and importers supply most independent shops and many online sellers; they want a wide range they can mix in one order. Chains buy direct for their own brands.

Pet owners in Europe pay attention to design, materials and animal welfare. Beds, collars, leads, toys, scratching posts, aquariums and carriers sell best when they look good in a living room and use materials that buyers can explain: natural fibres, recycled materials, non-toxic plastics. Interzoo in Nuremberg is the main international fair for the trade and is held every two years; national fairs and online buying fill the years between.

Seasons are softer than in toys or garden, but they exist: Christmas gifts for pets, spring and summer outdoor products, travel and cooling items. Online sellers reorder all year in small lots, so stock in the EU is a strong advantage.

A Chinese supplier usually fails here on product safety and consistency: toys that break into small pieces, dyes that run, unclear materials or no documents for chemical content. A supplier succeeds with durable, tested products, clear labels in local languages and a reliable reorder process. Our scope is accessories and equipment; pet food and veterinary products have their own strict regimes and we only take them on after a separate review.

Frequently asked questions

What certificates do pet products need to export to Europe?

Most pet accessories need no specific certificate, but they must be safe under the GPSR and meet REACH chemical limits. Electrical items such as fountains or trackers need CE. Every consumer product needs an economic operator in the EU named on it.

Do pet toys need EN 71?

No, pet toys are not toys under the Toy Safety Directive. Some buyers still ask for tests on small parts or chemicals, because children may handle pet toys too. Clear labelling as a pet product helps.

Do you sell pet food?

Not as part of our standard service. Pet food falls under separate EU feed rules on hygiene, labelling and approvals. If you make pet food, we review your case separately before any offer.

How do we find pet supplies distributors in Europe?

We search and qualify pet wholesalers, chains, online pet shops and private-label buyers in Poland, Germany and nearby countries. We check their range and payment record, then introduce suitable ones. You see every contact in the CRM report.

What do European pet owners look for?

Design that fits the home, durable products and materials that are easy to explain, such as natural or recycled materials. Claims about sustainability must be backed by certificates.

Can small shops buy from us?

Usually through a wholesaler or from our stock in Poland. Small shops rarely import directly. Stock in the EU lets you serve them and online sellers with small, frequent orders.
