Selling in the Baltic states: distributors, retail and marketplaces

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are three small, open and highly digital markets on the Baltic Sea. Each has its own language, but all use the euro, and many importers and distributors serve two or all three countries from one warehouse.

Lithuania borders Poland, so the Baltic states are reached by road from our base and our partner warehouse in Poland. One offer and one stock can cover the whole region.

How B2B buying works in the Baltic states

Each Baltic market is small on its own, so many companies think regionally: an importer in Riga, Vilnius or Tallinn often distributes to all three countries, and some also supply Finland or Poland. Buyers include distributors, wholesalers, specialist and DIY chains, online shops and companies buying promotional goods.

Business is fast and digital. Buyers answer e-mail quickly, use online tools for ordering and expect clear documents. Because volumes per country are modest, they prefer smaller orders delivered quickly from stock in the EU rather than full containers from China.

What Chinese suppliers often get wrong

Offering only container loads with long lead times does not fit the size of these markets. Another mistake is to treat the region as one language: consumer labels and instructions must be in the language of each country where the product is sold. Packaging is registered for EPR in each country separately. See EU compliance.

How we approach the Baltic states

We look first for importers and distributors that cover the whole region, so one partner can sell in all three countries. We contact them in English, which is widely used in Baltic B2B trade, and prepare product information in Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian with native-speaking partners. Buyers can order directly from your factory under contracts in your name, or receive smaller lots from our partner warehouse in Poland. Every introduced buyer is registered in the shared CRM.

Frequently asked questions

Can one distributor cover Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania?

Often yes. Many importers in the region hold stock in one country and supply all three. We look for such regional partners first, because it gives you one contract and one order for the whole Baltic market.

Do I need offers in three languages?

For B2B contact English is usually enough. For consumers, labels and instructions must be in the language of each country where the product is sold. We prepare these texts with native-speaking partners.

Do I need a company in the Baltic states?

No. Baltic importers can buy directly from your factory. If they want an EU invoice and smaller lots, our Polish company can import and deliver from stock in Poland, and it can act as your EU responsible person under GPSR.

Are the Baltic markets too small for a factory?

Each country is small, but together they form one region served by the same distributors. They suit factories that can offer smaller trial orders; with stock in Poland even modest orders become practical.

How long until the first order from the Baltics?

We cannot promise a date. Baltic buyers usually answer quickly, so first contacts and samples often come in the first two months; the first order depends on season and on the buyer’s stock.
